Causes of raw almond allergy

When it comes to almond allergy, it is initiated by the immune response against the protein present in the food. Even though almonds seem to cause the least allergy issues of all tree nuts, an individual can develop an allergy against the proteins present in the nut. In case the body mistakes the proteins in almond as a threat, it produces specific IgE antibodies which binds to the protein and activates the mast cells. Histamine

One of the chemicals released by the mast cells is histamine. The chemical increases the local blood flow, smooth muscle contraction and vascular permeability. Once almonds are eaten, the throat can become inflamed and swell in just seconds.
