A fisherman was recognized as a hero for saving a man’s life with CPR. Aaron Jones saved a man who was drowning in B.C. lake.
Saving a life
A relaxing day on the lake quickly shifted into a different ordeal when a bystander noticed a man’s head drop below the surface of the water and did not come back up.

The rapid actions of a fisherman and surrounding campers proved pivotal in saving a life at Suzanne Lake.
According to Aaron Jones of Calgary, they were coming back from fishing. As the group was approaching the dock in the middle of the lake, they saw a man who was having a hard time swimming and was shouting out for help.
Nobody close by seemed to be moving towards the man. The Elk Valley RCMP later confirmed that the man developed a cramp in his legs which rendered him temporarily immobile.
As they moved the boat towards him, the man went under and did not come back up. When he was going under, Jones jumped in and it was already near the bottom when he got the man and brought him up to the surface.
The man was completely unconscious with eyes wide open. Jones tried to feel for a pulse but there was none. Others helped Jones in getting the man to shore at which Jones quickly started CPR. Chest compression was performed and after seven or eight rounds, the man came back to life.
