Unconscious 9-Year-Old Rescued at Prince Albert Water Park

A fast and well-coordinated response by lifeguards at Kinsmen Water Park in Prince Albert helped save the life of a 9-year-old child who was found unconscious in the main pool.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. CST when staff noticed the child in distress and immediately removed them from the water. Lifeguards began CPR right away, demonstrating the importance of proper emergency training. When paramedics from Parkland Ambulance arrived, the child had regained consciousness and was alert.

The child was transported to Victoria Hospital with an adult family member for further medical assessment. Parkland Ambulance later confirmed that the child is in good, stable condition.

A spokesperson for Parkland Ambulance praised the quick actions of the water park staff, stating, “If it wasn’t for their quick response, this event would not have been such a success.”

Following the incident, Kinsmen Water Park was closed on Thursday to allow for an investigation and staff debrief. The facility reopened the following Friday.
