Two Motorcyclists Die in Separate Accidents on Quebec Roads
A grim weekend on Quebec’s roads continued Saturday evening after two separate motorcycle crashes claimed the lives of two young men, both in their twenties. The incidents, occurring just hours apart, underscore the dangers motorcyclists face and the sudden nature of roadside emergencies.
According to reporting by the Montreal Gazette, the fatal crashes happened in different regions of the province within the span of just a few hours (original article link below).
The first fatal collision took place in Franquelin, approximately 25 kilometres east of Baie-Comeau on Quebec’s Lower North Shore. Police were called to the scene around 4:30 p.m. following reports of a crash involving an off-road motorcycle.
According to authorities, the rider was travelling along a trail near Route 138 when he attempted to turn toward a sandpit. Investigators believe the motorcyclist failed to notice a chain blocking the roadway. The impact caused severe injuries, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. A collision reconstruction specialist was dispatched to analyze the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Later that evening, at approximately 6:15 p.m., emergency services responded to another fatal motorcycle collision in Potton, located in Quebec’s Eastern Townships. The rider reportedly lost control at a three-way intersection between Vale Perkins Street and Des Pins Street, colliding with a residential building.
The motorcyclist sustained critical injuries and was transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Importance of First Aid Knowledge During Road Emergencies
Serious traffic collisions often unfold without warning, and bystanders are frequently the first people on the scene. In these critical moments, knowing how to respond can make a meaningful difference before professional help arrives.
Training in first aid and CPR teaches essential skills such as controlling severe bleeding, assessing consciousness, and providing immediate life saving care. Comprehensive courses like Standard First Aid training prepare individuals to respond confidently to real-world emergencies, including motorcycle and vehicle accidents.
If you’re interested in learning these vital skills, consider enrolling in a Standard First Aid course offered by Winnipeg First Aid, which covers CPR, AED use, and emergency response techniques for serious injuries.
