Candidates enrolled in this course will learn the following skills and knowledge in a basic first aid course:
- CPR on a adult or child victim.
- Recognition and treatment of victims of choking.
- Respiratory Emergencies including anaphylaxis, asthma and hyperventilation.
- Circulatory Emergencies including heart attacks, angina and strokes.
- External Bleeding (minor and major).
- Broken bones and fractures.
- Sprains and Strains.
- Training in the use of automated external defibrillators (AED’s).
